Biography

Sarah E. Jamieson, PA-C completed her undergraduate degree in Bio-Chemistry from McDaniel College (formerly known as Western Maryland College) prior to graduating from The Jefferson College of Health Sciences with her Physician Assistant degree. She began practicing general neurology in 2003 in western Maryland and moved to Frederick to join Dr. Bakker in his practice in 2006.

Since joining Dr. Bakker, she has been serving patients with both general neurologic and sleep-related disorders. Sarah completed additional training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for insomnia in 2007 through an educational meeting supported by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. She provides care to patients with all sleep-related diagnoses including but not limited to sleep apnea. Sarah enjoys reviewing sleep studies with patients and helping them understand the need to treat sleep apnea while working with local respiratory therapists to help patients meet their treatment goals.

Sarah developed a special interest in multiple sclerosis prior to joining Dr. Bakker in Frederick. She works to stay abreast of updates regarding MS care through continuing education. Sarah is active in the MS community as she educates patients and their supporters regarding MS as a disease process and more specific medical treatments.

Additionally, Sarah enjoys helping patients who suffer from headaches. She works together with patients to find headache triggers. Sarah works with patients to find effective and well-tolerated plans for the prevention of migraines which may include the use of Botox. She also helps patients develop a plan of action to treat headaches when they occur.
